Cervical cancer vaccination

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a virus that can cause persistent intracellular infection. Its main route of infection is close contact with skin, such as sexual intercourse. There are more than 100 subtypes, of which about 40 cause a genital infection.

Most of them are naturally healed without symptoms, but persistent infections can develop into genital warts or cervical cancer. Since infection caused by HPV can cause cervical cancer, vaccination against this virus can prevent cervical cancer

2, 4, and 9 vaccines are currently available for cervical cancer vaccination. Currently, national vaccinations are conducted twice every 6 months for 11 to 12 year old girls. Cross-vaccination between 2 and 4 vaccines is not recommended.

All age groups should consider the age-specific vaccination rate, and you can consult with our gynecologist regarding further details.
